Coming along

What I've been keeping busy with lately:

-searching for a new place to live
-finding a midwife to take over my last trimester and birth
-expanding Brent's food palate
-exercising

|Searching for a new place to live has been slightly stressful. We currently live in a condo right on Waikiki Beach, and I must admit that I love it. Many people would think that living amongst vacationers must get old, but for me, how can seeing happy people having the time of their lives ever get old?
We do have a place reserved for next month, but the rent is ridiculously high for such a small space and we want something a little less expensive if possible.

Brent prefers a little more of a rural life, but he knows that I would rather live in an urban area where I can get to places by simply walking. This would also save us from having to buy another vehicle, paying for another parking space, car insurance, gas, etc. I really think it's the more financially sound thing to do.
We also want to live close to the water so that we can take advantage of the beautiful and calming feeling that the ocean gives us and Ariella can grow up on the beach.

I will be looking at a place tomorrow, but it's a little ways from the water and it doesn't have air conditioning. It can get pretty humid here.. #firstworldproblems

If all else fails, we may just have to live in one of these...|

:D
|Searching for a midwife is progressing somewhat smoothly. I have 2 consultation appointments, one on Friday and the other on Saturday. One of the midwives that I'm really interested in only does home births. This could present a problem, especially since we don't know where we will be living at the time that Ariella will hopefully be making her debut. If we are in a studio condo like we are now, I'm not sure if I would be comfortable going through labor with neighbors being so close. I know they would be able to hear everything.

The other midwife has a birthing home, but I think it's her actual home.

I learned through a midwife assistant that the midwifery system laws in Hawaii are pretty grey. They are not allowed to have birthing centers and their roles are not clearly defined. I'll be doing more research on this over the next few days.

I am praying that one of these 2 midwives is the the right one to fulfill my birth vision.

|Expanding Brent's palate and exercising are almost going hand in hand right now. Because the grocery store is about a mile away, I am only buying enough groceries for a few meals at a time so that I have to go more frequently. This ensures that I get at least a 2 mile walk in almost every day. It also limits the amount of groceries that I have to carry on the way back home.

These are some things that I've made so far:

Holy Yum Chicken

Honey Lime Shrimp with a yummy Spicy Corn Casserole

They were all so delicious, Brent was super impressed!|

|After a long and exhausting 2 hour search, I finally found an affordable and comfortable 2-piece bathing suit.

Now it's time for me to go work on my tan a bit.|
Happy living y'all!
